Trusting God when the miracle does not come, when the urgent prayer gets no answer, when there is only darkness—this is the kind of faith God values perhaps most of all…the kind of faith that cannot be shaken because it is the result of having been shaken.
A friend recently asked again for the handout (her copy was falling apart) from Sara’s talk on Mother’s Day 2015. About 400 people gathered that day, to hear Sara speak from her wheelchair about what the Lord had been teaching her through cancer. As many of you know, Sara was a conduit for wise words. Words from the Lord and others poured help and hope into her, and she poured them out into the lives of others. The quote above from Nancy Guthrie’s Holding Onto Hope is one example.
So, my friend’s email prompted me to share the handout from Sara’s talk here. Reading it this week reminded how many rubies, sapphires, and diamonds of truth are on these two pages. You can read or download it below. I’ve also included the video from Sara’s talk on May 15, 2015—when the doctors said she only had a few weeks to live. (Note: The audio is poor for the first 23 minutes of her talk. It gets a lot better at 23:37.)
