My wife has only been gone for 36 hours, and I already miss Sunroom Psalms with her. But, the Lord was still there to meet with me this morning, to speak to me through Psalm 30. I invite you to invite him into your heart and mind, too.
Play the song below, and read the text as you listen. Read the text repeatedly. Don’t be distracted that the song doesn’t follow the psalm word-for-word. Absorb the emotion and message. Make it your own prayer to the Lord. Enjoy, and before you begin, ask the Lord to give you what your heart needs today.

Psalm 30—
1 I will exalt you, Lord,
for you lifted me out of the depths
and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
2 Lord my God, I called to you for help,
and you healed me.
3 You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead;
you spared me from going down to the pit.
4 Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people;
praise his holy name.
5 For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning.
6 When I felt secure, I said, “I will never be shaken.”
7 Lord, when you favored me,
you made my royal mountain stand firm;
but when you hid your face,
I was dismayed.
8 To you, Lord, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy:
9 “What is gained if I am silenced,
if I go down to the pit?
Will the dust praise you?
Will it proclaim your faithfulness?
10 Hear, Lord, and be merciful to me; Lord, be my help.”
11 You turned my wailing into dancing;
you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.
Lord my God, I will praise you forever.

Dear Chris, I just learned from your post in Facebook, about Sara’s passing. My heart goes out to you and your children. These are turbulent times for you and your family, but you are approaching them by walking them hand-to hand with Jesus, and He is the only one who can wipe your tears, heal your heart and mitigate your pain loneliness.
My love, blessings, and continued prayers fly up to Heaven for comforting angels to keep you and the kids every second of the day and night.

Questions:
1. What stood out to you?
Initially I grieved. I especially grieved over the lines:
9 “What is gained if I am silenced,
if I go down to the pit?
Will the dust praise you?
Will it proclaim your faithfulness?
Did this mean that Sara has been silenced? That her praise is no longer; that her faithfulness is now useless?
And I got angry.
But then I remembered – every time I think of her, I’m filled with immeasurable desire to do good, to live life to the full: to smile like she smiled, to love like she loved, to laugh like she laughed. To enjoy this life like she did – bringing joy to everyone around her.
While I cry as I walk around my house remembering what she did in each corner, on each chair, through each doorway, I also piece together the memories of her joy and how her continual joy affected and continues to affect my heart.
NO, Sara has not been silenced.
We love you Sicks family.
